One of Florida’s most unique beaches is located in Palm Coast just north of Daytona Beach. This coastline provides the ideal mix of warm water, sandy beaches, and rocky foregrounds that have the potential to provide the most compelling imagery in the state. The rocky seascape provides an endless supply of compositions to really engage your creative side and explore new and unique scenes. The added bonus being that this beach is east-facing and therefore perfect for colorful sunrises. I will guide a group of 6 photographers of all skill levels through my approach to shooting this area and provide all of my lessons learned with the challenging, and sometimes chaotic landscape. From the blue hour light of pre-dawn, to shooting directly into the sun to create a Sunstar effect, this workshop will go in depth into advanced techniques for creating technically challenging compositions. For the beginners, there is no better way to learn than to experiment, and push yourself out of your comfort zone. For the more advanced photographers, this area will be a true test of your abilities and I will be with you along the way to provide my preferred settings and techniques.

When it comes to Florida, wildlife is and always will be the dominant genre of photography. However, I have always been focused on landscapes. Living in Florida has definitely made that challenging, but once I began really exploring the potential for interesting and beautiful landscape compositions, I started to get amazing results. I create unique images that you won’t see on social media because hiking in the woods in Florida doesn’t sound as impressive as hiking the mountains of Colorado. Therefore, there are very few other nature landscape photographers in the wild. Which is why I’m offering these workshops! I want to provide an opportunity to show photographers of all skill levels the truly unique landscapes of central Florida, and eventually all of Florida. My workshops are limited to small groups so I can focus on providing a tailored experience to all participants. If you are brand new to photography and have nothing but a cell phone, I will teach you how to use that phone camera to it’s maximum potential. If you are an experienced photographer looking to create unique images, I will bring you right to the most scenic areas across central Florida, saving you the time and struggle (and believe me it can be a struggle) of hiking through endless trails in the search of new compositions. From beaches to springs, forests and swamps, I believe that Florida is a truly underappreciated gem in the landscape photography world and my mission is to advocate for the wild areas, educate fellow photographers, and share the amazing experiences that I’ve had through my photography.
